Primary Considerations for Digital Nomads:
Internet ConnectionÂ
Hotel WiFi: up to 25mbps
Mobile Data [LTE]: up to 10mbps (Globe)
Power or ElectricityThere are occasional power outage but most of the hotels and establishments have backup power generators.
SecurityCoron is very safe and solo traveler friendly. Locals are very friendly with tours that are well regulated. Tricycle drivers (based on my experience) are also very honest and helpful in giving directions.
Travel Time or AccessibilityAirport is just 30mins away from Coron town. When you're from El Nido however, there is also a boat directly going to Coron town.
Coffee ShopsI've tried Socorro Cafe with WiFi internet speed of up to 50mbps.There are also a lot of coffee shops spread across the town of Coron and a 24hr fast food chain (Mcdo)
Bad Experiences and General Tips:
I've heard from other travelers during the tour that mobile data is very slow in their places. I'm not sure how slow but for my experience, I can work in any spot of the town with my phone internet.
Palawan had some know issues about water contamination or food poisoning, I experienced mild to severe LBM on my 5th day which is unfortunate so make sure to bring medicines with you.
I highly recommend private tour when doing the Coron Island tours (called the Super Ultimate Day Tour) for you to enjoy and really get the best moments in each stops or skip those you don't like. Joiner tour here will only be around 30min each spot. Plus you will have your personal photographer if you do private tour.
For the beach hopping (Coron Island Escapade), this is when joiner tour is the best option. It will only be 3 island beaches and you'll be staying for 1-1.5hrs each spot so you'll definitely have a plenty of time.
